Case: everyone on the pro is signed for 2+ more years, now during offseason your prospect played 82+ games and must be promoted, what now? No room in the pro do you still get to sign him and stash him in minor? Or you lose him to UFA right away?
Are we allowed to trade immediately after fantasy season/playoff is over? Any restriction before prospect draft & free agency?
Would be nice to update the rule page after all questions are clarified for one simple reference. Thanks

NJD the contracts for Mcdavid etc are set at a 3yr ELC if you burn two of them in minors then u only have one left when you call them up.....the ELC doesn't start when u call them up but rather when they sign it with the parent club.

The Catagories are weighted and most Catagories is a win.......so as I understand it here is an example
I play NJD for one week and the results are as follows
STL 24A. NJD 23 A. -----STL wins 2 Catagories STL 67 blocks. NJD 85 blocks. ------NJD wins 1/2 Catagories STL 44 Net FOW. NJD 33 net FOW -------STL wins 1/2 Catagories (this is currently not the way faceoffs is listed, but think it will be changed to something like this) STL 14 G. NJD 21 G. ------NJD wins 3 Catagories STL 103 H NJD 107 H -----NJD wins .3 Catagories
So on and so fourth down through the Catagories using the weighted amounts on fantrax.....( I will also say the value of SOG is friggity fracked up as well)
Anyways the cumulative Catagories is added up and team with highest number wins.....say NJD is the highest he is now 1-0 record STL is 0-1 there can be ties....

How about someone like Darnell Nurse. Let's say he spends 3 full seasons in the AHL and therefore in your minor team as well. His NHL contract ends; does his contract end in our league as well? If it does, then minor league contracts expire as well. This is what will happen with most of the prospect we draft this year; they have existing contracts and those will very likely expire before they see any time in the NHL. So the question then is, do these players become available for offer sheets, can their owner re-sign them, or what really happens with them? The Catagories are weighted and most Catagories is a win.......so as I understand it here is an example I play NJD for one week and the results are as follows STL 24A. It's not really "Most categories is a Win" if that's the case. Anyway, I just want confirmation of what exactly is our scoring system.

Thanks In my opinion, you can have an illegal roster in the off-season, so you promote that prospect, re-sign him, and then create room somehow. You can trade one of your players or use a buyout on someone. That's how I think it should be at least.

NJD would you rather have the contracts start when we bring the player up? I could get behind that premise. It would be a cool blend because we are allowed to play our minor elligable players back and fourth until the following offseason in which the player has reached 82 games. However having the wrinkle off starting their contract clock would make a GM think a little more before just plugging him in. This would allow us to just ignore minors contracts all together which I would be all for!
I like this plan......thoughts NJD?

I think that might make prospects too valuable if you could use them for the full 3 seasons for less than $1M. But I do wonder how we're going to handle players who we draft now and who don't have an NHL contract yet. For example, prospects in NCAA or KHL.

I think it's the fairest way and least complicated.....remember you said yourself KISS
Puts more value in ones ability to draft and recognize young talent. Also gives us the fun of decision making when it comes to deciding when and if to bring them up before the 82 game mark

All drafted players' contracts should certainly expire the same time as NHL contracts in life

All drafted players' contracts should certainly expire the same time as NHL contracts in life And what of the players drafted that don't have an ELC yet? Zach Warenski for instance .....

Well since they will be stashed in minor their contract can kick in after their NHL club signs them? Or you can use the rule 2.3.2 18-21: 3-year deal Round 1: $925,000 ,Round 2: $800,000 ,Round 3: $725,000 Whatever the commish/board of governors feel comfortable enforcing

Saw the email, I thought I can re-extend a RFA every year until he reaches the age of UFA? (Age 27). But it seems email says you can only extend RFA once regardless of contract length?

Are you sure they are per category? I have played in points league like this and it has been 0.5 for each block. No, I'm not sure. That's why I'd like to get some clarification on this. But then "Most categories is a Win" wouldn't make any sense if you were getting 0.5 points per blocked shot. It would be a weighted points league, then. Exactly my point lol

I saw the same thing, that can't be right. I chose to build my team young because of the UFA age of 27. If I now lose my players before they even hit their prime... It just can't be like that. This is from the commish's email, please clarify if this was just an honest mistake:
